Aracama with girlfriends

There are friends that despite the distance and the time spent apart, remain to be the closest that we have. I met this lovely group of ladies while still in college in Assumption, San Lorenzo.  We started with a small group that grew to a big group of nine.  After college, some have ventured into their family businesses, others have settled abroad while some of us stayed in Manila to start our careers.

Recently, our friend Marge, who is based in Vancouver, Canada came home for a vacation.  She had one request, to have lunch with us and enjoy Filipino cuisine.  So here we are on a Saturday at Aracama, Bonifacio Global City for a reunion that happens every two years (in Marge's case at least).

Marge gave us H&M sunglasses, so here we are having our photo taken with the tag still on (haha!)

The food that we shared with great conversation:
Insalata Uva
Signature salad with kesong puti, toasted walnuts, grapes, honey balsamic vinaigrette, PHP 220.00

Fish Balls
Street food treat, made from scratch served with three dips, PHP 150.00

Lumpia Sisig
Pampanga style minced pork in a crisped roll served with their signature sawsawan (dipping sauce)
PHP 195.00

Gising Gising
Spicy winged beans with spicy green chilies, ground pork and coconut milk, PHP 195.00

Crispy Pata
Deep-fried pork hock with house signature dipping sauce and green papaya salad, PHP 575.00

Dulce Gatas and Bunuelos
Caramelized gooey dulce de leche with warm fried pastries, PHP 200.00

Chocnut Ice Cream
Chef Fernando's famous sari sari store treat flavored ice cream, PHP 120.00

Suman sa Ibos
Signature dessert - deep fried Ibus suman, mascuvado latik, mangoes and ginger ice cream
PHP 180.00

We enjoyed the great-tasting Filipino cuisine and the place itself!  The ground floor area where we were seated had enough tables to allow conversing in normal tones, versus a bigger space with more tables.

It was a great day to catch up with friends

You'll find Aracama at Unit C The Fort Entertainment Center, Katipunan Circle, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.  For reservations call  (+63-2) 519-6815.

P.S. Though our friend, Bambi, was not able to join us at Aracama, Marge and I were able to meet her for breakfast before she left for Canada.
