Our Staycation Experience at Sheraton Manila Hotel

If there's something Mickey and I look forward to when the weekend comes, it is the chance to unwind, to press the restart button, so we can face a new week 100% revitilized, .  We had the chance to do just that when we had a hotel staycation at the newly opened Sheraton Manila in Newport City, Pasay.  It is located right across NAIA 3 terminal, and would also perhaps be a good place for travellers to stay in before or after a flight.

We stayed in a Deluxe King room, check here for Sheraton Manila's current room rates.

Mickey and I are a stickler for a good night's sleep when it comes to hotel stays.  It is a kind of our deal breaker each time we stay in a new hotel.  So, the following morning, I ask him how his sleep was and just like me, he said that it was a really relaxing sleep.  I also loved that the pillows were not too soft, that they smother you in your sleep.  Everything was exactly as we wanted it.

The entire room measures 44 sq.m. and to our relief, Sheraton Manila has a smoke-free policy from the day they opened the hotel.  That is a major thumbs up for me and Mickey.  Our eyes get watery, and we start to sneeze when exposed to cigarette/tobacco smoke.  Nobody wants to have allergic rhinitis when they're trying to relax, right?

Our room also has a sitting area, it was a great place to hang out in, to read a book and for never ending conversations (and jokes) that continue until the late hours.

There is also a desk with an ergonomic chair, a table lamp, and outlets that are thoughtfully placed on the sides without one having to crawl under the desk to charge mobile phones or connect laptops.  We should be relaxing right?  So we didn't check any emails, and instead watched funny YouTube videos.

By the way, this hotel has one of the fastest internet speeds available to guests.  My speed test app resulted in a stable 25Mbps all throughout our stay.

You can watch your favourite TV shows on a big 55-inch HDTV.  It also welcomes you when you turn it on, what a nice, personal touch!

The marble bathroom was also spacious and well lit.  It has your standard hotel bathroom amenities included, plus a lighted mirror, hair dryer, robe and slippers for your use during your stay.  Best part? The rain shower head.  Strong water pressure and stable water heater.  You have to pull me away from the shower to stop bathing.  Aren't warm showers relaxing?

That's right, make yourself at home.  Just like we did!

The room also comes with daily complimentary water bottles.

There are snacks and drinks in the mini bar, but of course if consumed, it would have to be charged on your room bill.  But it's a good option in case you get hunger pangs in the middle of the night.

Our room overlooks NAIA Terminal 3, but the sound proofing was good.  The room was quiet.

S Kitchen at the ground level of the hotel is open from breakfast to dinner. They serve global cuisines and elevated Filipino dishes using only the finest ingredients.  Sheraton even has its own vegetable farm in Amadeo, Tagaytay.  The restaurant has sleek interiors with high ceilings and glass walls.

This is Sheraton Manila's Vega pool, it's heated, measures 635 square meters.  With a kiddie pool, wet decks and a pool bar.  There's so much room to lounge and swim!

If you're bringing your kids along, I'm sure they'll enjoy some play time too at the Kids Club.

For the adults, after some buffet time, perhaps lift some weights in the Fitness Center?  They have cardio and strength training equipment, ample space to stretch and sweat it out.  There is a fitness expert close by, and a relaxing outdoor view.

We had a really relaxing stay here.
