Our 8th Year Wedding Anniversary at Pico Sands Hotel, Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club, Nasugbu, Batangas

Ever wanted to go on a serene weekend escape not too far from the city?  A few months ago, we embarked on a journey to visit Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club in Nasugbu, Batangas, which is a good 2.5 hours from our starting point in Eastwood City, Quezon City, to celebrate our 8th year wedding anniversary.  Has it really been 8 years already?  It feels like just a year ago that Mickey and I got married.  I guess it is true when they say that, time flies when you're in a good relationship and having fun.

We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights in a Mountain View room at Pico Sands Hotel.  I absolutely love that the room had plenty of natural sunlight, it also opened to a verandah with two outdoor chairs and a table facing the mountain.  This is where we usually stayed in the early morning and night, endlessly talking, laughing, taking in the fresh air, relaxed atmosphere and enjoying nature.

The room is spacious and clean.  It had a writing desk, a flat screen TV, a huge closet (inside it are 2 bath robes and 2 hotel slippers, a safe to keep your valuables, a flashlight, a flat iron and an ironing board) , a coffee and tea making facility, a personal ref and a supply of two bottles of water everyday.

During our stay, we also brought in some snacks, canned soda and bottled water just in case we'd get hungry at any point when we're in the room.  Otherwise, daily we'd have buffet breakfast at Pico Restaurant & Bar and have an afternoon snack, lunch or dinner in one of the themed restaurants (Lagoa, B&B, Grab & Go and Reef Bar) around the property.

There is hot and cold water in the shower and lavatory and we also had a daily supply of Natur Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower Gel, Bath Soaps and Body Lotion in the bathroom.  Beach towels are also provided in the bathroom, just be sure to bring it back to the room after using it.

In the afternoon, you'd most likely find us here.  By the beach, under the shade and lounging on the outdoor chairs or having a dip on the beach.  The sand is dark gray but the water is clear enough that you can see the sea bed.  Though the weather was quite perfect for water activities because the water was flat most of the time, we opted to either relax under the shade or play Frisbee.

Eight years of wedded bliss with this wonderful man.  We spent most of the afternoon catching this huge Frisbee and walking by the beach at sunset.  Good times.

The view was serene and I kept memorizing it in my head

On our first night, we received this sweet surprise in our room.  Thank you Pico Sands Hotel, the moist chocolate cake was delicious!

The pool was probably one of our favorite spots, there were five of them!  We were always the last ones out every night and the first ones back in every morning.  You'd think after eight years we'd run out of things to talk about, but the stories, conversations, silly jokes and laughter are still endless.

Each time we'd go to the beach, we would opt to skip the hotel's open van and instead go on foot, to enjoy the view.  We'd always pass by the man made lagoon in the middle of the property amidst the lush mountains of Nasugbu.

Even our fine feathered friends love it here!

Can't wait for our next adventure

Happy 8th Wedding Anniversary, Mickey!

Hi Karina! It's nice to hear from you and now I'm having flashbacks of S.C.Johnson and Shangri-La Mactan days. Good times! I hope to see you soon, it's been too long. Enjoy at Pico de Loro!
