Cafe Jeepney, Intercontinental Manila

A few months ago, I bought vouchers at Deal Grocer for lunch (or dinner) at Intercontinental Manila Hotel's Cafe Jeepney at 50% off.  It was my first ever purchase from any group buying site.  Honestly, I think that the best value for money deals are with Deal Grocer.

Last Saturday, Mickey and I were finally able to use the vouchers at Cafe Jeepney.  We arrived a bit early than the 12:00 noon schedule for the buffet to open, but it's okay, I always like being early (whenever I can) versus being late.  Being late stresses me out, haha!  Oh, did I mention it's our first time to dine here?  The dining atmosphere is casual and the dining crowd is a mix of VIP's, hotel guests and families out for a weekend lunch get-together.

The restaurant serves a spread of Filipino and International cuisines, a carving station, but what we truly enjoyed was the live cooking station, the grill!

The restaurant is decked with Philippine Jeepney nostalgia - old photos, paintings, a replica of a Philippine Jeepney (from the Sarao family, makers of the Philippine Jeepney) is displayed in the dining area and an actual Sarao jeepney grill on the wall with the lights on!

You know the buffet is open when the lights are turned on at the live cooking station

Maki, sashimi and sushi station

Hi Tina!

How would you compare the selection/variety of food in Cafe Jeepney as compared to Vikings? Which menu tastes better and which one offers more?

TIA!

Hi!

I haven't been to Vikings yet. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make a comparison. All I know is that Cafe Jeepney has just the right amount of food selection (and of good quality) known for a 5 star hotel.

PS - If you do go to Vikings, do let me know about your experience.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Miss Tina! I was looking for reviews about Cafe Jeepney and I came upon your site. Would you say, if for example, that you did not have the Deal Grocer voucher, that the original price of the buffet is worth the selection and taste of the food there? Thank you. Deal Grocer has a deal again with Cafe Jeepney, and I would like to know first if it's worth it. Thanks again!

Yes it is, but of course, if you can get the vouchers at Deal Grocer, that would be a steal! Enjoy!
