Tenya Philippines

Have you tried Tenya already?  If you haven't yet, here's a bit of trivia:  Tenya is the most successful tendon restaurant chain in Japan.  Tenya aims to provide high quality tendon and tempura to their customers at an affordable price.  Their founder, Mr. Yoshio Iwashita, started this mission in 1989 when he opened the first Tenya outlet in the Yaesu underground mall's Tokyo station.

A lot of their essential ingredients and equipment come from Japan to ensure that they provide the best tasting products, they can offer their customers.  Aside from Japan, Tenya can now be found in Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and now, in the Philippines.

Recently, Mickey and I were able to have our first Tenya experience at their Tiendesitas branch.  They had quite an extensive menu ranging from ramen and noodles, sushi and salads, appetizers, a la carte dishes, tempura baskets, tendon, teishoku sets, jyu and ooedo sets, desserts and drinks.

I had the Tempuramen or Tonkotsu ramen topped with ground pork, paired with black tiger prawns, green beans and eggplant tempura.  There was a good serving of noodles which can easily fill a hungry appetite very quickly.  The set dish costs Php 395.00.

Mickey had the Gyo! Ramen or Tonkatsu ramen topped with ground pork and paired with gyoza.  He said that the gyoza tastes good.  This dish costs Php 365.00

We also ordered 4 appetizers (top left to right): chicken karaage, kimchi, chuka wakame and isobe cheese.  It was a good enough set for two people.  This appetizer set costs Php 375.00

We also ordered for extra gyoza for Php 95.00.

Mickey also tried the Tenya Milk Tea, infused with Assam and Darjeeling tea made with fresh milk for Php 115.00.  He said that it's refreshingly good!

There are also new dishes on the menu you can try!  Like the Supreme Black Tiger Tendon, for only Php 365.00, a tendon original dish of deep-fried  oversize Black Tiger Prawn, Pacific White Shrimp, Shrimp Poppers and Ebi Kakiage laid over a bed of steaming hot Japanese rice drizzled with signature don tare sauce.  This new and limited edition Tendon is also available in Teishoku set served with your choice of hot or cold soba/udon noodles for Php 435.00.

Here's a reason to go visit Tenya soon: TEN-YA Day is Tenya's customer appreciation day, which will be happening every 10th of the month with a buy one, take one promo on Classic Tendon.  The next one is happening on Friday, May 10, 2019!

Visit the Tenya branch near you at SM Megamall, Market! Market!, BGC Stopover, Paseo de Magallanes, SM Mall of Asia, Aseana City, Festival Mall, SM Southmall and Tiendesitas.

To Tenya, "gochisousama deshita!"
