It happened on a weeknight but I couldn't miss going to my first "Marry Me at Marriott" event. The venue for the biggest bridal event of the year was at the Marriott Grand Ballroom which happens to turn a year old this year. The name for the ballroom was apt, it was indeed Grand! Did you know that it is the largest, pillarless ballroom in the Philippines? It provides 86,111 sq. ft. of space for over 3,800 guests. It has a wedding chapel as well as bridal suites with gardens which is perfect for any couple's stress-free dream wedding.
There was an enchanted forest theme with cocktails, pastries and a dessert spread prepared for all the guests. The long table was lined with white trees that had hanging crystal baubles and pixie lights that resembled fireflies. There were also crystal candelabras with long tapered candles that set the romantic scene for the night's event.
Some of the cocktails prepared were salmon tartare with squid ink, prawn cocktails, a gambas station and for pastries and desserts, there were calamansi brownies, matchamisu in white passion cone, macarons, hey mango carmelito, dark chocolate malleux tart and much more.
The Grand Gazebo
A 32" tall garden inspired cake, with a 45" wide pool at the bottom which gives the elegant and well-crafted creation an illusion that it's floating.
The First Dance
This 5-tier cake stands a towering 52 inches tall and contains an all-white butterfly array, rose petals and a hand-painted silhouette of a chandelier and a couple having their first dance.
A fashion show featuring the beautiful wedding collections of the country's top fashion designers Mark Bumgarner, Francis Libiran, Ryan Madamba and Cary Santiago were showcased in the huge ballroom that transformed into a huge runway. Definitely, there was a wedding gown design that would fit any bride's style preference - from classic to modern and minimalist to more intricate designs.
