A call to share God's blessings after Typhoon Maring

Last Sunday, Mickey kept looking outside the window.  It had been raining incessantly for several hours already and he told me "two hours more, if it still rains as hard as this, the effect may be the same as last year's monsoon rains".

Two days after, the weather hasn't changed.

I watched Typhoon Maring on TV as it got stronger and stronger by the hour and prayed that the rains would stop.

 Flights were also being cancelled

I had my eyes on Marikina River's water level too.

Who can forget the damage that Typhoon Ondoy madeWe all saw how many people lost their loved ones, re-build their homes and tried to get their lives back to normal.  In fact, Typhoon Ondoy has left such an impact on all of us that when it rains hard, we all make a mad dash to get home to avoid flooded streets and the horrific traffic that immediately follows.  Most of all, for people living in flood-prone areas, it is the fear of another Typhoon Ondoy.

That day, Marikina River reached it's highest water level at 19 meters.  I was so scared for the families living near the river.  I prayed that they were safe in the evacuation centers and have left their homes.

On a normal day, Marikina River looks like this

Mickey and I knew that we needed to help and share God's blessings.  A a call for help came this morning from our church, CCF Eastwood.  We rushed immediately to our neighborhood grocery to buy bottles of water that we're donating to the nearby affected communities of Libis, Bagumbayan, Pasig (and as far as Pampanga).

Thank you Ace, Art and Melvin for helping us bring these carts to CCF Eastwood
(which is just a few steps away from our neighborhood grocery)

Volunteers at CCF Eastwood who helped pack the donations and deliver the relief goods to the barangays
