Penshoppe's #IamDifferent Campaign

Local retail brand, Penshoppe, recently launched their newest campaign called #IAmDifferent.  It is the brand's first Corporate Social Responsibilty campaign that sheds light on bullying especially now that we live at a time where being different oftentimes results to being mocked, isolated and bullied.  #IAmDifferent aims to form a movement to inspire everyone to embrace their own uniqueness, despite what other people may think.  "Being different is something to celebrate and be proud of, that's why Penshoppe is truly committed to empowering the youth to embrace their individuality", says Jeff Bascon, Penshoppe's Brand Director.

International Brand Ambassadors Kaia Gerber, Bella Hadid, Lucky Blue Smith and Sandara Park also joined Penshoppe in their #IAmDifferent campaign.  As Penshoppe brings its focus to the issue of bullying that is currently affecting the Filipino youth, it is the best time to address the issue of bullying in the country.

A study reports that 1 out of 2 Filipino students have experienced or witnessed bullying in their schools.  It has also taken a new form especially with the advent of social media as it provides a more convenient avenue to spread hate and thrive on people's insecurities.

We can all be shapers of change.  With Penshoppe's #IAmDifferent collection (of tees and caps), you can use your voice and take a stand against bullying.  Each limited edition t-shirt (with the campaign statements "I am Different" and Different is Good") is made of luxe fabric and with a unique serial number.  Proceeds of the #IAmDifferent collection will go towards the development of anti-bullying programs for the youth, through modules that discourages bullying and teaches acceptance in public school children, and in partnership with Teach For The Philippines.

"We know we have a long way to go, but we hope that this campaign will start a movement, to educate and encourage many Filipinos to be involved and to do their part against bullying", Bascon adds.  The movement has already started on social media as ClubPenshoppe members Loisa Andalio, Sofia Andres, Tanner Mata, Maria Fabiana and Emilio Perez, together with local personalities Jimmy Alapag, Vicky Herrera, Patti Grandidge, Keiko Necesario and many others lent their voices to the cause.
