Lemery, Batangas for the weekend

"Guess what? We're going to Batangas this weekend", Mickey tells me.  I didn't know whether to be shocked or to get excited, but nonetheless, I grabbed our overnight bag, packed it with our essentials and headed South this weekend to survey a weekend home (of a client of his) for home audio installation.
It is Mickey's first time in Lemery, Batangas and my coming back in many years (my last memory of Lemery are family vacations spent at the beach when I was still in my teens).

It is a good thing that Lemery, is a Batangas town that is near Tagaytay City, and at this part, the scenery gets greener, the weather is cool, the air is clean, farm animals roam free and at this point, you realize, you are officially off the (city) grid.

During our visit, we met new friends, had a taste of Southern country life and stopped by a roadside restaurant to savor the local cuisine.  The restaurant had a beautiful, unobstructed 180 degree view of Batangas and you'll hear the occasional orchestra of cicadas.  It's a good weekend.
