The weekend that was: Comfort Food at T.G.I.Fridays, Life's Challenges and Dreams Coming True

Ever had those weeks when it's fully charged?  Well, Mickey and I both had that last week.  There were deadlines to be met, loose ends to be tied, challenges that gets solved but gives birth to tiny unexpected challenges.  Thankfully, even if there are challenges, God leads us to finding the right solutions.

But before we face a new week full of promise, we like to recharge.  Though we cannot travel at this time due to projects and commitments, we just head to our favorite go to place for comfort food which is T.G.I. Fridays.  We eat so often here that we just had to get their Premiere card!  If you haven't heard of it yet, it's a privilege card you can get for PHP 2,500.00.  It actually turns out free because it comes with PHP 2,500.00 worth of vouchers (you can use one PHP 250.00 voucher per visit for 10 visits).  But my favorite part is that, whether you use the vouchers or not, there is a 30% discount on your total food bill when you dine on Mondays and a 20% discount from Tuesdays to Sundays.  I think, if you frequent most of their Bistro Group outlets, it would be worth it to get one.

So here we are on the weekend ordering our favorite Grilled Barbecue Chicken at T.G.I. Fridays Glorietta.  No sharing here, we like to bounce ideas off each other while having a good meal (trabaho pa rin, haha!  But in a lighter way).

All that talking needs some really cool refreshments, especially now that summer is slowly creeping in on us.  Let's have some double iced tea then (refillable off course).

We order our grilled barbecue chicken with ranch barbecue sauce on the side every single time.  It just tastes so good!

Here's the deal breaker.  It's called Brownie Obsession and last weekend this was on the must order list.  It has double decked hot fudgy brownie goodness topped with a generous scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream and crushed walnuts.  It is sinful but delightful.

By the way, when you have a Premiere card, you get a free cup of freshly brewed americano each time you visit T.G.I. Fridays.  As a coffee lover, I have a habit of ending hearty lunches with a good old cup of coffee.  It seals the deal.

Our favorite spot at T.G.I. Fridays Glorietta is the first booth at the end.  From here, we see people coming in, oftentimes spotting some friends.  Suddenly it's an impromptu reunion.

By mid-afternoon, we passed by one of Mickey's projects where he is Sound Design Consultant.  This is at Unit 27 Apartment Bar + Cafe soon to open at The Fort, Bonifacio Global City.  He asked me to come and listen to his installation and I have to say I am very proud of Mickey and his work.  He left corporate life 2 years ago to chase his dream, to build customized sound system designs for Cafe's, Restaurants, Bars, Residences, and Retail shops.  Now (with God's help), he is living his dream.  Isn't God great?

It's almost sun down and we are about to go out for dinner.  I can feel the hot summer wind blowing and I know that it's just a matter of time before we enter the hot months.  Right now, I have my eye on the open space behind me, I'd like to fly a kite or even play Frisbee here in the summer.  Let's see.

I hope you're all having a wonderful week!
