Shu Uemura POREraser

Each time Mickey and I would go to Duty Free Philippines, there is one beauty counter that I automatically go to at the Beauty Walk and that is the Shu Uemura counter.  Although I must admit, this particular visit was only for what I needed right away.  I have always been a fan of Shu Uemura's under base mousse and this time I wanted to try the POREraser.

Now who doesn't want smaller pores?  Make-up looks so much better with a really good primer/under base mousse that also minimizes the appearance of pores.  Also, in my experience, Shu Uemura's under base mousse, really sets the face for make-up that adheres well and lasts longer throughout the day.

You must be wondering why there are two Shu Uemura POREraser's in this photo.  It's because at the Shu Uemura counter at Duty Free Philippines they sell a lot of their skin care/make-up line in twos (labeled Shu Uemura: The art of travel).  Why get the two pack?  Because it's so much cheaper than getting them individually (The two pack retails for USD 67.00 or Php 2,934.00 while at Shu Uemura ateliers the POREraser retails individually for Php 2,000.00).

Also, I am the type who keeps two sets of make-up kits:  I have one at the office and another set at home and that goes for my styling tools too.  There is actually a story for this, I keep on leaving my make-up kit either at home or at work and whenever I need my make-up kit, it's not there.  So, what do I do I end up going to my favorite make-up stores and purchasing make-up I don't really need.  So finally, to end this vicious cycle, I decided to just maintain two sets of make-up kits and hair styling tools for both the office and at home.  Problem solved!

The POREraser is a liquid base, if you let it sit too long on your palm the foam melts into liquid form, but don't worry you can still use the base even if it's no longer in foam form.  It takes a few applications to get the timing right and for you to gauge how much you would need on a daily basis.

The POREraser UV under base mousse has SPF35 PA+++.  The Japan Cosmetic Industry Association corresponds to the protection of UVA as: PA+ (good), PA++ (better), PA+++ (best).  There are two types of ultraviolet radiation, UVB is responsible for sunburn, while UVA which penetrate the skin more deeply are associated with wrinkling, sagging and photoaging.  It's good to know that this product can help protect the skin against the sun's harmful rays.

I bought the one in beige (there is also a variant in pink ) and it comes in a 50g tin bottle.  To use it, just shake well and dispense a small amount on your palm and apply on your face and neck.  The illustration (second photo down) shows how to properly apply POREraser.

Here are some tips from Shu Uemura:
  1. Generally apply outwards from the center of the face, except around the mouth
  2. For oily and mobile areas, apply a sheer amount
  3. Don't forget to apply on the neck

What I like about Shu Uemura's POREraser:
  1. It is lightweight and perfect for our tropical weather
  2. It is easy to apply, you can use your fingers or a sponge
  3. It minimizes the appearance of pores
  4. It controls shine
  5. It gives your face a flawless finish
I don't think there is a down side to this product.  Not even the price, because you get to use it for a long time (for me, a bottle would usually last for about 6 months) and if a product delivers what it claims to do, then it's worth it.  It is still my favorite make-up primer to date!
