Makati's Festive Christmas lights

The other day, Mickey and I were reminiscing about the time when buildings in Makati used to have really nice decorations at Christmas time.  I remember that there was a contest and awards were given to buildings which were beautifully adorned.

Last night, our car was number-coding and I had to wait for Mickey to pick me up at the office.  As I looked down the brightly lit streets of Ayala Avenue and Makati Avenue (which is adorned with colorful Christmas lights at this time of the year), I thought to myself, I'd  go down and get myself a cup of hot chocolate at Starbucks and bring my camera with me just in case I'd catch anything interesting.

As I walked down Makati Avenue, I saw PLDT building's white Christmas display of snowflakes and giant Christmas balls.  How nice that even without a contest, they decided to bring Christmas cheer to everyone.  It looked so nice at night.

This is Ayala Avenue at rush hour.  I waited until the cars going to Buendia were stopping at the intersection so I can get this photo.  Everybody seems to be in a rush going home and as I was about to enter the Starbucks at Makati Stock Exchange, I heard Christmas music being played and saw people going towards the Ayala Triangle Gardens.  I wasn't in a rush, so I checked out where the music was coming from.

I chanced upon the light and sound show at the Ayala Triangle!  This show has become a yearly event at Christmas time in Makati.  This year, 800,000 colored LED bulbs dance and transition to different images to Christmas songs.  I stopped to watch first.

It's beautiful!  Just in case you'd like to go and see the show with your family and friends, the light and sound show will run until January 5, 2014 at the Ayala Triangle Gardens from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, every 30 minutes.

Now, I can enjoy my cup of hot chocolate (and yes, Christmas songs are still playing in my head).

Have a great weekend everyone!
