My picks at Gourdo's mid-year sale!

When Mickey and I got married and moved in to our own place, I noticed that my interests shifted more to home and living.  I love decorating, re-decorating, accessorizing, re-accessorizing and changing the look of our space, mostly when seasons change or whenever I can.

On weekends, when there are no plans to go out, we are happy simply enjoying our cozy space, enjoying home-cooked meals (or ordering in from our favorite restaurants, if we feel like enjoying the weekend), we watch videos from the comforts of our own living room, read our favorite books and magazines and even play board games!  Indeed, home is where the heart is.

The other day, while I was walking around Greenbelt 5, I chanced upon Gourdo's mid-year sale.  I love the variety of things that they sell in the store, which are mostly for the kitchen and and for entertaining at home.  I was telling myself, I will just look around.  Major fail moment as I saw how the prices are so reasonable and mostly on buy one take one  promotions.  So, let me share with you, what I bought that afternoon:

I bought 6 of these cactus glass coolers.  I love the funky design of these glasses, they are easy to grip and handle and deep enough so that you don't have to refill drinks that often.  It would be great to have a tex-mex night with these. These are on promo, at buy one take one for PhP150.00.

I also bought these popcorn containers for weekend home movie dates with Mickey.  What I love most about watching movies at home is that it's comfortable, you can play the home theater as loud as you can for that cinematic experience and pause the player when you have to go to the loo (Haha!).  Just draw your black-out curtains and enjoy the movie with your loved ones.  These popcorn containers are on promo, at buy one take one for PhP 75.00

Here's something I'd like to try, making my own california maki's at home (the operative word is: try.  Haha!).  This sushi/maki kit comes with a bamboo sushi/maki mat, a bamboo sushi/maki Ekco paddle, a sushi and maki making guide with a few recipes.  It's a steal at buy one take one for just PhP180.00

I also needed to get a new tumbler to use at the office.  I accidentally dropped the lid of my old one and it cracked when it hit the hard flooring on our pantry floor.  I love the Trudeau brand and they have really nice stuff for the kitchen.  I'm glad they have a ceramic desk tumbler that has double wall ceramic insulation and uses silicone to grip the tumbler it with and for the lid (this won't crack now, even if I accidentally drop it).  It's a steal at P 180.00 (regular price, not on sale).

For me, great tasting food doesn't have to be complicated to make or the ingredients difficult to find.  I browsed through the recipe's in Claudia Schmidt's Raclette cookbook and I find them easy and doable.  Originally priced at Php 240.00, now at 50% off.

Check-out the Gourdo's sale until the 4th of August.  Have a great weekend everyone!
